Mint is searching for a Senior Accountant. The senior accountant is responsible for all day-to-day accounting activities for Mint Automation as well as running the Company’s bi-weekly payroll. The Senior Accountant reports to the Company’s owner, Jeff Alexander. The Senior Accountant works closely with Preferred CFO, the Company’s outsourced CFO and Controller consultants.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain general ledger and chart of accounts
  • Record and properly apply in QuickBooks all bank deposits and disbursements
  • Reconcile all bank accounts at month end
  • Record bills in QuickBooks each week for commission payments
  • Pay commissions via ACH transactions
  • Record application of commission payments against commission bills in QuickBooks
  • Record and pay customer buyout payments
  • Oversee accounts receivable activities, including holdback receivables
  • Track purchases and installations of equipment and record month-end journal entries to recognize COGS for equipment installed during the month
  • Oversee all accounts payable activities
  • Record credit card transactions and reconcile credit card accounts each month
  • Payroll—work with third-party payroll providers to run bi-weekly payment and record payroll transactions in QuickBooks
  • Properly accrue for payroll earned but not paid at each month end
  • General journal entries—record general journal entries as required (i.e. fixed asset depreciation, accrued interest, prepaid amortization, etc.)
  • Meet with the Preferred CFO consultants frequently to discuss your activities and responsibilities
  • Assist Preferred CFO consultants as required


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • Prior experience with QuickBooks required
  • CPA preferred
  • Strong Analytical and Organizational Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Must be self-motivated with strong time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, demonstrates active listening and comprehension skills, able to present information in a clear and persuasive manner
  • Comfortable in a dynamic and fast-paced atmosphere
  • Ownership mentality of role and deliverables
  • Track record in successfully meeting deadlines while handling multiple projects
  • 3+ years work experience in accounting
